Air China Cargo launches freighter service to the Netherlands

Air China Cargo has started operating scheduled freighter flights to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for the first time

The inaugural Air China Cargo scheduled flight arrived on September 12th at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The brand new B747-400 services are initially operated five times weekly from Shanghai, via Chengdu or Chonqing; flights return via Tianjin. This is the third Air China Cargo freighter route serving Europe. The airline has slots available to upgrade the service to up to ten flights per week from Amsterdam. Schiphol offers a road feeder network to over 100 destinations, covering all major European markets. The Chinese airline has appointed Swissport as its ground handling agent at Schiphol.

Air China Cargo has 11 Boeing 747-400 freighters, operating from its twin hubs of Beijing and Shanghai to destinations including Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Copenhagen in Europe; New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas in the USA; Tokyo and Osaka in Japan; Chennai in India; and Taipei, Hong Kong, Chengdu, Chongqing and other major cities throughout Asia. In addition to its own freighter flights, Air China Cargo has exclusive cargo loading rights on Air China’s passenger flights, giving it access to a global route network of 156 destinations.
