Air Partner handles heavy cargo transport to Syria

130 tons of freight flown to the Near East with Air Partner

Air Partner, one of the world’s leading providers of charter aircrafts, has carried out a challenging air cargo transportation a few days ago. In total 130 tons of air cargo, of which two individual parts weighed each 48 tons, have been forwarded from Dresden via Leipzig to Syria’s capital Damaskus. Escorted by the police, heavy lift transporters carried the heavy load from Dresden to Leipzig, where it was shifted to the aircrafts.

At Leipzig Airport an Antonov 124 offering 100 tons of air freight capacity and an Airbus 310 freighter were available for the 48-tons machine components and some smaller parts that weighed 34 tons. Loading happened in nocturnal hours. Both aircrafts took off at about 10 p.m. and arrived after a flight time of five hours in Damaskus.

Air Partner counts among the world’s largest aircraft charter companies and has 22 offices in the most important metropolis around the globe. With 250 employees the corporate group, which is listed on the London stock exchange, generated a turnover of EUR 308 million in 2007/08. The portfolio is focussed on private jet management, JetCards, ad-hoc charter for business air travel as well as incentive, event- and congress travels, cargo transportations and emergency operations.
