The Austrian forwarding and logistics association Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik (ZV), which is officially representing the interest of domestic forwarders and logisticians, has a new president: Wolfram Senger-Weiss (41), member of the board at Gebrüder Weiss Gesellschaft m.b.H. headquartered in Lauterach, was appointed president for a period of two years during the general meeting of the association. He succeeds Harald Bollmann, who had been a member of the ZV presidium for 32 years – 5 years thereof in the function of the president – and who was now given honorary presidency.

In their general meeting the Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik appointed Alexander Friesz (Lagermax Lagerhaus und Speditions AG) and Wolfgang Schneckenreither (from the associated forwarding company) as vice presidents. Further members of the ZV board are Franz Braunsberger (Kühne + Nagel GesmbH), Gerhard Kapeller (Kapeller Int. Spedition GmbH), Walter Konzett (Gebrüder Weiss GmbH), Kurt Leidinger (Schenker & CO AG), Gerhard Traussnig (Traussnig Spedition GmbH) and Herbert Weber (Lagermax Int. Following his studies at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the new president of the ZV started his professional career in the industry as board assistant at Berndorf AG and in the management board of a start-up in the USA. He graduated with an MBA from a post graduate program with Insead, before taking over responsibility in the corporate controlling of Gebrüder Weiss in 2003. As board member of Gebrüder Weiss he has been in charge of the following resorts since 1 January 2005: finances, legal, sales, property, M&A as well as CSR and sustainability. Since 2007 he is a member of the ZV presidium as well as of the collective agreement negotiations team.

The Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik was established in 1897 to represent the interests of Austrian forwarding and logistics service providers with a forwarding licence on a voluntary basis. The association is a member of the international umbrella organisation FIATA, through which transborder interests are represented. Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik has about 200 members (logistics enterprises).
