APM Terminals sell Charleston stevedoring unit

Strategic move in the South Atlantic region: SSA Cooper takes over the South Carolina (USA) stevedoring business of APM Terminals
APM Terminals will sell its Charleston, South Carolina stevedoring business to SSA Cooper in a strategic move that boosts the focus on the company’s core business. The amount was not disclosed. APM Terminals long term strategy is to optimize the company’s portfolio and simplify business activities that are non-core assets.

APM Terminals operates seven container terminals in the USA:  Elizabeth, New Jersey; Jacksonville, Florida; Miami, Florida; Mobile, Alabama; Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Tacoma, Washington.

SSA Cooper is a joint partnership between Cooper/T. Smith and SSA Marine providing stevedoring services throughout the South Atlantic. SSA Cooper operates in Wilmington and Morehead City, North Carolina; Charleston and Georgetown, South Carolina; Savannah and Brunswick, Georgia; and Jacksonville, Florida.
