AsstrA: New fast transport route from China to Europe

Regular truck services with AsstrA AG from China to Kazakhstan and feeder options to Russia, Byelorussia, Poland and Central Europe

AsstrA Associated Traffic AG launched a new transport route from China to Kazakhstan via Khorgos at China’s western border in January. The international transport and logistics service provider reduces thereby the transit time between China and Kazakhstan, and accelerates distribution in other European countries.

The new route completes the portfolio of the company, now offering delivery of goods from Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Ningbo, Guangzhou and Shenzhen to all cities in Kazakhstan, Russia and Byelorussia, Poland and other countries of Eastern and Western Europe. The transport route from China to Kazakhstan will initially be served once per week.

A trial shipment was operated from Shanghai to Almaty. Seven tons of the hazardous cargo heptafluoropropane, a liquid gas used as extinguishing agent, were transported. According to Sergey Luksha, Manager of the Chinese branch of AsstrA Logistics AG, “this scheme is suitable for LTL (less than truck load) shipments with short lead time requirements. Transit time from Shanghai to Khorgos is usually around 10 days”.

AsstrA is an international holding working in the logistics market. Four sub holdings of AsstrA AG specialise in the following services: AsstrA Forwarding AG – freight forwarding, customs services, cargo insurance; AsstrA Logistics AG – logistic project development and management, export/import operations (outsourcing of cross-border logistics), warehousing; AsstrA Transport AG – carriage by own truck transport; EBS Partners AG (partner company Oracle) – refinement, implementation and support of software products of Oracle. AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG was founded in 1993 in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 800 employees in China, CIS, Eastern and Western Europe (Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Russia).
