Austrian Lufthansa Cargo starts operating according to schedule
| Austrian Lufthansa Cargo markets freight capacities of Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo in Austria Today Austrian Lufthansa Cargo GmbH is officially presented in Vienna. The new cooperation between Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo has started operation on 1 July 2010. On a press conference Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo AG, together with the two Managing Directors Hasso Schmidt and Franz Zöchbauer, are about to explain the targets and details of the cooperation. Lufthansa Cargo holds 74 per cent of the share capital of Austrian Lufthansa Cargo, Austrian Airlines 26 per cent. The new company markets freight capacities of both airlines in the Austrian market. Joint clients will be served from one source now. Lufthansa Cargo will be in charge of the complete marketing of Austrian Airlines’ freight capacities outside Austria. Lufthansa Cargo’s air way bills and IT systems will be used exclusively. In addition to the marketing agenda Austrian Lufthansa Cargo shall boost the expansion of the Vienna Airport into another air freight hub of Lufthansa Cargo AG.
