Austrian Post launches parcel pick-up service for private customers
Austrian Post delivers tens of thousands of parcels every day – now it also picks up consignments and returns on order, directly from the front door. The new pick-up service for private customers expands the company’s service portfolio with immediate effect, making the sending of parcels even more convenient.
For the pick-up service (“Abholservice”), customers register at www.post.at under “My Austrian Post” and log in directly at www.post.at/abholservice where they can commission the collection of up to three parcels for the price of EUR 2.50.
The time window in which the postman will ring the bell at the front door is displayed directly during the ordering process. The parcels – parcels with prepaid parcel stamps, return parcels to mail order companies or Hermes returns with their labels – are collected on the next working day (Monday to Friday) as part of the delivery process.
The shipments are handed over personally, but can also be deposited. The Post Flexibox or the indication of a desired place also allows collection if the consignor is not at home at the agreed collection time.
Apart from that, the Mail Collection Box, the Flexibox or the Self-Service Areas with pick-up stations of the Austrian Post have been providing individual options for receiving parcels for quite some time.
