Austrian Post has invested EUR 50 million in the construction of the new logistics centre. It has replaced the old logistics centre at the Linz Hauptbahnhof as of 4 August, after a year of construction. Since the start of operation 75 million letters, advertising mail and newspapers, and five million parcels were sorted with the modern machines and shiped from Allhaming to all over Austria.

Approximately 650 employees work at this site, which is conveniently located at the Westautobahn highway, directly at the Allhaming exit. The new logistics centre is designed for handling 1.6 million letters and 100,000 parcels per day.

On the flat roof of the 23,000 m² logistics centre, a photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 496 kilowatt peak was installed. Since the start of operation in late August about 37,000 kWh of power were generated.
