Baltic Rail service Vienna-Koper now a product of IMS

Container operator IMS and well-versed traction operator LTE Graz come into play on the route between Koper and Vienna

Container operator IMS expands the offer of rail transport in the hinterland of the seaports. With immediate effect, the container operator IMS assumes the rail connection between Koper and Vienna of Baltic Rail. "We will continue to offer two round trips, and plan to expand this service.", says Wolfgang Tomassovich, CEO of IMS.

IMS was able to win the previous traction operator – LTE Graz – to continue these operations. “We don’t want to miss the many years of experience in Slovenia and Austria of the railway company", says Wolfgang Tomassovich. Through the takeover, also the recently started connections between Graz and Enns/Vienna/Hamburg/Bremerhaven/Rotterdam and Antwerp will remain on the program.

IMS was founded in 1993 as private container operator. Together with worldwide partners the full service operator provides all services associated with multimodal transport. The company based in Vienna has about 70 employees handling 147,000 TEU last year, generating turnover of about EUR 47 million. The company operates locations in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Switzerland.
