Bavaria/Austria: TX Logistik in search of additional staff

European rail transport company TX Logistik opens location in Munich; TX Logistik Austria’s Kufstein (Tyrol) branch has moved

TX Logistik AG (TXL) has opened a new location in Munich. “We want to expand our networks“, says Frank Lehner, TXL manager for sales and marketing. They were joining the sales and operations units there, thereby coming closer to the customers and being able to recognise and seize market opportunities early.

“The Munich branch s a strategic decision to intensify sales in this region“, Frank Lehner says about the choice of the location. In the course of the opening, also the TX Logistik Austria branch previously located in Kufstein has moved. Dispatch of drivers and locomotives for traffic across the Alps to the Italian border is now also controlled from Munich.

The management expects benefits in employees’ recruitment from the attractiveness of the Bavarian capital. They are currently searching for dispatchers and locomotive drivers in the area of southern Germany / Austria.

Southern Germany and markets in Austria and Switzerland close to the border are becoming increasingly important to the railway logistics enterprise, to develop existing transports and develop new rail logistics products. Since its foundation in 1999 TX Logistik has been serving various destinations in Bavaria with its BoxXpress cooperation network for the transport of overseas containers from German seaports.

Since 2012 TXL has also established a private network that currently connects the port of Rotterdam and the commercial cities of Nuremberg and Munich four times a week. The port of Antwerp is also linked by barge, which is clocked at the time of arrival of the train.

TXL expects more business, and thus a strengthening of the network by the new handling equipment Nikrasa, which was successfully introduced to the market last year. It allows loading also non craneable trailers on the railway easily. The throughput system offers full flexibility to forwarders and terminals, as their equipment has not to be customised. Each carrier can shift trailers on the rail without any additional investment.
