Bayer MaterialScience awards major contract to Log4Chem

Log4Chem becomes strategic partner of Bayer MaterialScienece to manage bulk transport of polyether across Europe
 
The 4PL-newcomer Log4Chem, was awarded its first major contract. At the start of October the joint venture has signed a letter of intent with Bayer MaterialScience, which provides for the logistics provider to take over responsibility for management of bulk polyether transports throughout Europe. Accordingly the start of operation for the strategic partnership between Bayer MaterialScience and Log4Chem is scheduled for the second quarter of 2014. Initially the contract has been agreed to run for a period of four years.
 
In addition to taking over operative responsibility for management of transports, Log4Chem will also be in charge of tactical and strategic optimisation of the transport network. The focus will lie on continual improvement of transport processes. This includes measures to pave the way for increasing productivity from both human resources and transport equipment involved.
 
This major contract is a milestone for Log4Chem in reinforcing its position as a 4PL logistics supplier in the field of chemical transports in the regions of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Log4Chem’s future stakeholders are the logistics suppliers Bertschi, De Rijke Group and Hoyer. The joint venture is to be established in the relevant markets subject to anti-trust approval. Together the partners have a network of 112 offices, 53,095 transport units and 8,955 employees worldwide.
