Better IT integration of truck fleet of Lehnkering Chemical Transport
Lehnkering equips its truck fleet with V3 CarCube System board computer of Trimble Transport & Logistics; objective: efficient order handling and flexible transport planning
Lehnkering Chemical Transport GmbH, specialising in Europe-wide tank transport of chemical goods, has equipped their truck fleet with recently developed board computers of Trimble Transport & Logistics. The company’s own trailer trucks are now equipped with the V3 CarCube.
The new system allows more efficient order handling and flexible transport planning. So-called remote downloads allow reading of data from a digital tachograph and the driver’s card via radio communication, and thus independent of the vehicle’s position. Moreover a document scanner allows to provide all order-relevant documents for administration directly subsequent to the transport.
“This investment is a further step towards optimising our fleet management and supports a more flexible planning of the vehicle operation“, says Bernd Matthes, fleet manager with Lehnkering Chemical Transport GmbH, based in Duisburg.
Lehnkering Chemical Transport GmbH is part of the company division Road Logistics of Lehnkering GmbH. The company offers its customers highly professional, customised and product specific logistics solutions for liquid chemical and petrochemical products. The fleet comprises tank trailers made from steel or stainless steel, as well as special equipment responding to customer requirements.
