BLG has its own throughput facility at Cuxhaven car terminal

BLG Logistics Group increases efficiency of handling processes at the Cuxhaven car terminal with a pontoon and a loading bridge

A new era has started at the Cuxhaven car terminal of the BLG Logistics Group. Having constructed a pontoon and a loading bridge, they have their own throughput facilities available at the Amerikahafen. The investment amount about EUR 260.000.

So far vehicles were loaded to ships at the Cuxport facility. Threrefore the Cuxport area had to be crossed first, to tranship the vehicles to BLG’s car terminal. “WESER HIGHWAY“ of the KESS shipping company was the first vessel to use the new facility at the end of December. Since then BLG has served two more KESS carriers at the new facility in Cuxhaven.

At its car terminal in Cuxhaven the BLG Logistics Group handled 115,000 vehicles last year, mainly for the Volkswagen group and BMW. They expect a slight growth for 2011.
