Bon’A Parte transfers European central warehouse to Loxxess

From Bor (CZ) to six European countries: Logistics provider Loxxess managed major logistics outsourcing project on behalf of the Danish fashion label Bon’A Parte

Bon’A Parte, a Danish fashion label, has charged Loxxess, a medium-sized logistics provider, with the management of its European central warehouse. Until now Bon’A Parte operated the warehouse at their headquarters in Ikast on their own. From now on Loxxess will manage warehousing, quality control, order-picking and dispatch across Europe from a warehouse in Bor in the Czech Republic, which is designed for mail order business and e-commerce. At this site a logistics solution has also been elaborated for the Planet Sports mail order company.

Loxxess will store about one million parts on behalf of Bon’A Parte. In addition to 60,000 shelf spaces, the wareouse provides also 7.000 m² equipped with more than two kilometres of rails for handing goods, which had been requested by the customer. Bon’A Parte is currently using a total warehousing area of 17,000 m². An automated conveyor facility connects the warehouse from the goods income booking and returns to the picking station. The special investments of the logistics provider feature a tunnelfinisher, which processes high-quality garments automatically, and a wrapping machine, which automatically furnishes individual garments on the hanger with protective foils.

„Initially it felt as if we had given away our baby,“ Bjarne Plagborg, logistics manager at Bon’A Parte, describes the feeling when making the decision in favour of logistics outsourcing. „But it was already clear in late 2010 that our warehouse in Ikast offers to low expansion opportunities.“ Thus the main requirement to the future service provider was, „to transfer the high quality standards that we have on our entire product range to logistics, and that both our own retail shops as well as end customers can be operated from one warehouse. “

The product range of Bon’A Parte includes women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, shoes, underwear and swimwear, and is currently available in six European countries. More than half of the shipments go to Germany, followed by the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden, the UK and Switzerland. While the shipments to Germany are directly fed into DHL’s parcel network in Nuremberg, a forwarder collects the parcels addressed to other countries on pallets in Bor, and feeds them into the leading B2C parcel networks in the respective countries. Further international expansion is in the pipeline.
