bremenports: Austrian representative E. Mittermaier to retire

Closure of the bremenports office in Vienna effective 30 June 2012 – Erwin Mittermaier remains contact person for Austrian customers

Erwin Mittermaier, who has been representing the port and logistics location Bremen/Bremerhaven since 2004 in the Republic of Austria, is to retire effective the end of June 2012. At the „logistics talk“ event Holger Banik, Managing Director bremenports officially said good-bye to the trained forwarder. “Fortunately the bremen ports will not entirely loose you“, said Banik, as Mittermaier will continue to act for bremenports on a freelance basis, and hence remain a link between Austria’s industry and the seaport logisticians in Bremen.

Together with about 70 guests who were present at the good-bye ceremony of Mittermaier, Banik expressed his delight about that fact “that Austrian customers will keep him as a competent contact person with whom they are familiar“. In the course of this event the closure of the bremenports office in Vienna, effective 30 June 2012, was announced. “Such a contact location is no longer necessary in times of modern office and internet communication“, said the bremenports manager.

Erwin Mittermaier, 65, started a forwarding apprenticeship in 1962 in Klagenfurt and has worked as an employee in this company until 1971. Then he changed for Schenker & Co. in Vienna and became a division manager, before he left the company in 1989. Having been active for two more forwarding companies in Vienna, Mittermaier was holding the position of the managing director of the Confracht company from 1995 until 2002.
