Imperial Logistics International completed integration of Lehnkering

Imperial Logistics International: Lehnkering remains an autonomous division specialising in the chemical industry

Imperial Logistics International (Duisburg) has completed the integration of the Lehnkering group into its organisation. As of now, four operative divisions form one strong logistics service provider within the corporation. In the course of this rearrangement Lehnkering will keep its status as an autonomous division within the Imperial group, being in charge of the chemical industry. The companies Laabs GmbH (Hildesheim) and FoodTankers AB (Karlshamn/Sweden) are assigned to the Lehnkering division. At the same time Lehnkering Steel Logistics and Lehnkering Euro Logistics form one unit with the similar activities of Panopa’s business segment. During the past months Lehnkering’s river shipping activities were joined with the Imperial shipping company into the new Imperial Shipping Group.

“We restructured the business segments so the strengths of both companies can complement each other, involving all employees to the same extent“, explains Gerhard Riemann, CEO Imperial Logistics International B.V. & Co. KG.

The division Lehnkering is headed by the managers Uwe Willhaus, Bernd Müller und Walter Steinig.  Gerhard Riemann resigned from his position as CEO of Lehnkering Holding GmbH and assumes the position of the chairman of the supervisory board, which is to be elected anew.

Being a 100%-subsidiary of South Africa’s Imperial Holdings Ltd., Imperial Logistics International B.V. & Co. KG is in charge of coordinating and controlling all international logistics operations of the parent company outside Africa. This includes the assigned five logistics companies Imperial Shipping Group, Lehkering, Panopa, neska and Brouwer and their respective subsidiaries and holdings. Employing more than 6,500 persons at 152 locations, mainly in Europe, the Imperial Logistics International corporate group generated annual sales of EUR 1.6 billion.
