Broekman DistriPort (Rotterdam) doubles capacity

Second berth for conventional ships opened at Broekman Distri Port

Since last week the Broekman DistriPort in Rotterdam offers expanded capacities to handle metal, steel and projects. The newly opened quay has just handled the first vessel. The new port terminal comprises quay facilities that allow the simultaneous handling of two seagoing vessels of 50,000 MT freight capacity and a maximum depth of 12,5 meters.

The Port of Rotterdam has invested around EUR 13 million into the expansion of the quay facilities of Broekman DistriPort. The new operation has a length of 195 metres and is equipped with four cranes with a lifting capacity of 30 tons each. As support to the facility a 60,000 sq.m. open storage area and a 15,000 sq.m.-warehouse were created. The terminal has now 200,000 sq.m. of total storage capacity.
