Cargo Center Graz launches rail shuttle to Trieste

The Cargo Center Graz (CCG) is expanding its offer for transports to and from the Adriatic ports. In mid-February the shuttle train between Werndorf and the port of Trieste was launched in close cooperation with the MSC shipping company. In the initial phase, the Italian Adriatic port is intermodally connected once a week.

The CCG acts as a neutral train operator for this new service. To ensure optimal timing for customers, the timetable of the shuttle train is timed to match the departure times of the MSC Far East Phoenix service. After the successful completion of the first test run, those responsible are working hard to increase the frequency of the shuttle as soon as possible.

For the Styrian cargo center, the new connection represents another milestone in the creation of high-performance rail links to the Adriatic ports. Currently, one or two daily block trains are operated between the Werndorf location and the Slovenian Adriatic port of Koper.
