cargo-partner opens the gate to the Arabian peninsula

New cargo-partner location in Jebel Ali in the Emirate of Dubai serves as a bridge head for the expansion on the Arabian peninsula

The international transport and logistics enterprise cargo-partner opened its first location for air and ocean freight services on the Arabian peninsula on 1 November 2010. This location in the free trade area in Jebel Ali in the emirate of Dubai strengthens the company’s relations between Europe and Asia. The office in Jebel Ali starts with a staff of 12 persons. The medium-term target of the private enterprise is to establish further stations in this region.

Stefan Krauter, CEO of the cargo-partner group: „Consumption in the emirate of Dubai, which is very much depending on importations, has suffered only little from the wave of speculation by the end of 2009. Investment activity has reduced to a normal level after the long lasting super-boom. Dubai is interesting to us because of its very good geographical position, but even more because of its unique infrastructure for air and sea transport as a transit station for the local market. Apart from being the gate to the other emirates and the Gulf States, Dubai is a place of transhipment for wide parts of East Africa. It is particularly attractive for us to have our combined sea/air traffic under our own control starting from our offices in Asia to the European recipients. We are able to offer our customers for this year’s Christmas trade halved transport times compared to sea freight, and significantly lower freight rates compared to pure air freight consignments.“ The cargo-partner group headquartered in Fischamend near Vienna is an independent provider of international transport and logistics services. The enterprise employs more than 2,000 persons at more than 100 locations in 27 countries worldwide.
