Geis takes over Czech logistician Feico
Feico spol. s.r.o. gains via its new owner Geis access to European and worldwide logistics networks
Effective from 1 November this year the internationally active Geis group took over the Czech logistics service provider Feico spol. s r.o. The acquired company counts around 80 employees at the headquarters in Prostějov and the location in Prague. The jobs and company name will be preserved. Feico was established in 1991 and has made a name for itself with individually tailored services for customers and a strongly international orientation. For the current business year 2010 the enterprise expects a turnover at around EUR 350 million Czech crowns (around EUR 14.2 million). The international forwarding segment accounted for about 65 per cent of this figure, national traffic for 15 per cent, contract logistics including value-added-services also for 15 per cent and customs services for five per cent. The enterprise runs its own 7,500 sq. m. throughput and logistics terminal in Prostějov in the East of the Czech Republic. Moreover Feico has rented another 10,000 sq. m. for logistic and forwarding actvities. “The wide range of services and the international orientation of Feico strengthens and completes our portfolio in the Czech Republic“, explains Joachim Fink, Managing Director of the Geis Holding. “Our 750 employees of Geis CZ and General Parcel Čechy offer on-site at 19 locations area-covering national and international forwarding, logistics and parcel services as well as worldwide air and ocean freight. Feico becomes a subsidiary of Geis CZ, but will continue to act autonomously in the market.“ Feico gains access to European and global networks through its new owner. The management will be joined by the new directors Luboš Scheinost and Thomas Gaßmann. Both will remain parallel managing directors of Geis CZ. As for Feico the management duo will be supported by the previous authorised officers Monika Mrvová and Jitka Čechová.
