DB Schenker Logistics forwards ÖSV material overseas

In the past weeks DB Schenker Logistics has transported 23.4 tons of training equipment for the Austrian Skiing Federation’s (ÖSV) speed and combination teams, men’s and women’s technical teams and snowboarders

Schenker & Co AG will be acting on behalf of the Austrian Skiing Federation (ÖSV) in the 2013/14 season again. Since the beginning of the summer 2013 the forwarding company has carried 23.4 tons of training equipment for the ÖSV speed and combination teams, men’s and women’s technical teams and snowboarders from the Kufstein branch to the overseas training venues in New Zealand, Chile and Argentina.

In early July the first delivery went to the DB Schenker branch in Kufstein. Material and equipment for the ÖSV men’s speed team was shipped by ocean freight via Valparaiso to Portillo in Chile. At the end of July, ten tons of training equipment for the ÖSV men’s and women’s technical teams and snowboarders were transported via Christchurch airport to Wanaka in New Zealand. And at the beginning of August the equipment for the men’s speed team was forwarded via Santiago to Portillo in Chile. The main challenges to be faced in this project were customs clearance and absolutely punctual delivery, involving collection and delivery to the hotels and ski resorts.
