cargo-partner receives climate award from LH Cargo

Lufthansa Cargo Climate Care Award 2011 goes to forwarding company cargo partner

The cargo-partner forwarding company was recently honoured for its committment to environmental protection and sustainability by Lufthansa Cargo in the category customers. Chairman and CEO Lufthansa Cargo AG Karl Ulrich Garnadt, handed over the Climate Care Award 2011 to Mag. Stefan Krauter, owner and CEO cargo-partner, and Christian Stingl, managing director cargo-partner Germany.

In addition to concrete environmental protection projects such as shifting transportations from road to rail, ideally consolidating groupage cargo and slowing down vessels, transportations are optimised and the use of alternative driving technologies is boosted. Since 2008, when the environmental protection initiative started, 19,113 tons of CO2 emissions could be saved each year. This means 2,742 million litres of Diesel and 3.5 million litres bunker oil.

On the long term cargo-partner counts on targeted support for the development of future transport technologies. Thus the transport and logistics service provider doubles the sum of the prize money at the amount of EUR 5,000 and donates it to a subject-specific air freight project team at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
