Ceva Logistics achieves great progress in new business

Globally acting group of enterprises Ceva Logistics posts continued growth of turnover and revenue:

Ceva Logistics registered a strong improvement in new business activities in the first half of the year 2011. According to CEO John Patullo the enterprise gained new business contracts at the amount of USD 1 billion. The driving forces were activities in China and their „century customer” – a group of about 100 big enterprises, who account for more than 50 per cent of Ceva Logistics group turnover.

Turnover amounted to EUR 3.4 billion in the first six months of 2011, which is 5.2 per cent more than in the same period last year. EBITDA amounted to EUR 152 million, which means a 29.9 per cent-increase in the first half of 2010. Calculated with current exchange, turnover and EBITDA rose 6.8 per cent and 34.2 per cent respectively, compared to the previous year.

In line with the development of the sector Ceva Logistics registered a declining global freight market in the second quarter 2011, which is marked by small air freight volumes, particularly in the regions America and Asia Pacific. However, the company was able to maintain turnover at the same level as last year. This was possible thanks to an increase in new business activities in the freight management sector amounting to 17 per cent compared to the previous year, which was generated throughout all regions, particularly in the segments technology, automotive and energy. Turnover generated in the contract logistics division rose around 9 per cent. This increase of new contracts and enhanced services for regular customers covered all regions.

Ceva Logistics headquartered in Hoofddorp in the Netherlands is specialising on developing, implementing and operating industry-relevant logistics solutions for groups, national and multinational medium-sized companies. The enterprise has about 50,000 employees around the globe.
