NUN Overland takes over FTT Fährtrans fleet

NUN Overland secures itself capacity for road transport on the corridor to Turkey through acquisition of the fleet from FTT Fährtrans Transport:

With the acquisition of the fleet of the longstanding partner FTT Fährtrans Transport in St. Urban in Carinthia, the NUN Overland forwarding company consolidates its position in groupage, part and full load transport on the routes between Middle and Western Europe to Turkey. “The longstanding owner wants to finally retire from business. Due to the lack of a successor, he sold the company to us“, Managing Director Kurt Stessl explains in the interview with the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung.

The stock of FTT Fährtrans comprises about 100 canvas-covered semi trailers and 12 trucks. The trailer units will be replaced by modern equipment step-by-step before the end of 2013, which has already been applied to about one third of the vehicles. NUN Overland intends to sell the trucks and replace them through cooperations with sub freighters.

NUN Overland took over the activities of Logwin Road + Rail Leibnitz in 2009, including the holding in Istanbul. Forwarding services with destinations and points of departure in Turkey form the cure business. Another focus lies on project logistics in the CIS.

ÖVZ N° 34/2011 will report more detailed on the forwarding company NUN Overland.
