CEVA moves cross-dock operations nearer to Mexican border

CEVA Logistics has relocated its cross-dock operations to a new facility in Otay Mesa, California, near the Mexican border.

Opened on May 2nd, the new location, which includes 2,600 m² and fourteen dock doors, has been completely renovated to exceed previous logistics capabilities for customers along the San Diego and Tijuana border.

CEVA increased its docking space by 25%, which allows for easier and quicker access for material consolidation and pickup. Along with the increase in docking doors, the layout of the facility has been configured for maximum efficiency.

CEVA has been operating in Otay Mesa for more than twenty years, and the main business operations will continue as cross-docking, which is designed to give a customer’s supply chain greater velocity and increase throughput at a critical point in the process by providing visibility of cargo destined for multiple locations.

CEVA receives raw materials from international and domestic suppliers and then coordinates the consolidation and transportation to the customer’s plant for manufacturing or assembly.  CEVA’s team also receives finished goods from customers in Mexico at Otay Mesa, which are then distributed both domestically and internationally.
