CKYH-shipping companies cease Europe-services
The CKYH shipping alliance formed by the Coscon, „K“ Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin shipping companies is streamlining and rationalising the schedules as a response to decreasing demand for capacities for the shipment of containerised seafreight. The EMX-services (East Med Express) from Asia to Israel and Greece was ceased only recently. The ADX-service (Aegean Sea Direct Express) from Asia to Turkey is on trial. In case of a negative result of the current market analysis it might meet a similar fate. The capacity of the TAS-1-service (North Trans Atlantic Express Service) from Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Le Havre to New York, Norfolk and Charleston Soeben has just been cut by 18 percent. The CNX-service from China to northern Europe is to be ceased by the end of January 2009. This reduced the offer on the routes between Asia and northern Europe by 9 percent, as the members of the CKYH stated in a press release. Quelle: Österreichische Verkehrszeitung |
