CMA CGM puts new “giant of the sea” into service

Maiden journey of new 13,300-TEU CMA CGM vessel starts on 11 November
 

It is named CMA CGM “Christoph Colomb“, has a length of 365 metres, a width of exactly 51.2 metres and a draught of 15.5 metres when completely unloaded. What is meant here is the youngest unit of the fleet of the French liner shipping company CMA CGM. Built in a shipyard in South Korea, the 13,300 TEU-container vessel completes the “giants of the sea“-group, according to a statement of the enterprise.

CMA CGM will use the new vessel in a regular service from Asia to Europe that is operated in cooperation with Maersk Line. The maiden trip of “CMA CGM Christoph Colomb“ starts on 11 November in Shanghai. The vessel is expected to call in Europe on 3 December in Algeciras (Spain), on 7 December in Rotterdam and on 9 December in Bremerhaven.
