Company acquisition boosts Hoyer in Northern Europe and the Baltics

Hoyer Group acquires Gran Taralrud, a Norwegian transport service provider and established partner of the oil and gas industry

The Petrolog business unit of Hoyer GmbH Internationale Fachspedition acquires the Norwegian-based Gran Taralrud transport company. This was announced by thee Hamburg-based enterprise on 30 April. Gran Taralrud is the leading transport and logistics provider for petroleum products in Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Hoyer is present in over 80 countries across the globe and this acquisition shall help expanding the service protfolio in Northern Europe and the Baltic region. The fleet of the Petrolog business unit will be increased by 170 trucks and 200 tank trailers.

Both Petrolog and Gran Taralrud provide sophisticated logistics solutions for the transport of liquid cargo, thus ideally complementing each other in different markets. Their customers include both regional and globally operating companies. Gran Taralrud is mainly serving the big oil and gas suppliers of north-eastern Europe.

In the course of the acquisition, the long-standing company owner Torunn Aass Taralrud will step down completely from the management and sell all of her shares. Per Ole Gran, who is retaining a minority stake in the company, will continue to lead the acquired business as managing director along with his existing management team. All of Gran Taralrud’s 450 employees will continue to work at the locations in Scandinavia and the Baltics.
