Dachser continues to strive for double-digit growth in 2012

Dachser is aiming to double revenue in the Air & Sea Logistics business field to EUR 2.2 billion in the coming five years
 
Investing on the large scale the Dachser group wants to continue growth of the past two years also on the medium term. Bernhard Simon, spokesman of the Dachser management board, said over the next five years, the enterprise intends to invest around EUR 1.3 billion, above all in its European overland transport network.
 
In the current financial year the private corporate group based in Kempten is again looking to increase growth by double-digit rates. The group is aiming to double revenue in the Air & Sea Logistics business field to EUR 2.2 billion by 2017. By then 5,000 employees in 220 branch offices in 49 countries will be working in this business field, says Bernhard Simon. In 2011, this figure was 3,200 staff members at 141 operating centres in 28 countries.
 
In the 2011 financial year the group revenue of Dachser raised by 13 per cent to EUR 4.3 billion. 21,000 staff working in 315 locations worldwide handled 49.3 million consignments weighing a total of 37.1 million tonnes. Dachser European Logistics generated revenue of EUR 2.6 billion. The Air & Sea Logistics business field posted revenue of EUR 1.1 billion, equivalent to a rise of 17 per cent. Dachser Food Logistics raised its revenue in the reporting period to EUR 555 million – an increase of 16 per cent.
