Dachser plans to create new jobs in 2012

Filling vacant positions in the commercial segment becomes increasingly difficult for the Dachser group:

Despite the weakening economic environment Dachser (Kempten) is planning to create new jobs in 2012. Bernhard Simon, head of the management board of the internationally acting provider of transport and logistics services, announced this in a press release. He points out that recruiting and retaining qualified people is part of the company’s long-term strategic orientation – even when the going gets tough.

According to the Dachser manager it is increasingly difficult for the logistics provider to fill vacant operational positions. Simon anticipates that this could become a problem in future. As for the shortage of truck drivers the company intends to significantly intensify its driver training and recruiting initiatives in the coming year.

In 2011 the Dachser organisation has created 1,700 new jobs, bringing the company’s total number of employees to just under 21,000. In 2010 the enterprise moved about 46.2 million shipments at a total weight of 35.5 million at 310 locations around the world. They generated a total turnover at EUR 3.8 billion.
