DB Schenker creates a new dimension in Croatia

New DB Schenker logistics facility in Greater Zagreb assumes pioneering role in customs clearance of international full truck loads

DB Schenker is strengthening its position in the Croatian market with a new logistics centre in Rugvica, which is located near Zagreb. The new facility is fully integrated into DB Schenker’s European network of more than 700 sites, and it also provides daily service in all countries that border on Croatia.

The new facility has a total area of 6,500 m² for warehousing management and logistics, as well as 1,000 m² of cross-docking space. The centre can accommodate more than 12,000 pallets and can also be expanded at later time to manage as many as 20,000 pallets. Over the next few months, the new logistics centre will receive TAPA and AEO certification, which will make the facility even more unique on the market.

DB Schenker moved into the new center at the beginning of October. The logistics center will serve the local market with more than 60 vehicles, thereby ensuring that DB Schenker can continue to honor its standard lead-time guarantee of 24 hours maximum in Croatia.

DB Schenker will be the first and only logistics services provider in Croatia to offer customs clearance for full truck loads at its own location. Customers will benefit from tremendous time savings in their import and export operations, as customs clearance for such shipments formerly could only be carried out directly at customs offices. However, the new logistics facility near Zagreb also includes an integrated Croatian customs station.

DB Schenker employs 114 people at five locations in Croatia. The company provides comprehensive transport and logistics solutions, including regularly scheduled line-haul truck shipments throughout Europe, as well as air and ocean freight, rail transport, and customs clearance services.
