DB Schenker eliminates „white spot“ in Northern Europe

Schenker AB in Reykjavik is the youngest member within the worldwide network of DB Schenker Logistics:

DB Schenker Logistics has opened up its own business in Iceland effective June 1, 2011. Before, the customers relied on the service of a partner. The new local office in Reykjavik acts under the firm name Schenker AB and is headed by General Manager Valdimar Oskarsson. The new Iceland subsidiary is now representing the global DB Schenker network with 2,000 locations in more than 130 countries.

The focus of Schenker AB’s activities is on Air and Ocean freight forwarding. “We intend to play a leading role in global reefer logistics with a focus on the seafood industry in the North Atlantic Ocean,” said Ingvar Nilsson, CEO Schenker North AB and responsible for the business in Iceland as Regional Director Europe North.
