Important investment of the Röhlig group (Bremen) in South America

Purchase of 50 per cent of Procargo Group opens Röhlig group direct access to four more markets in South America:

 The South American branch of the Röhlig group has gained growth impetus. The purchase of 50 per cent of the Procargo Group announced at the start of this week, the enterprise based in Bremen expands into 4 new countries. The newly acquired group – Röhlig’s long term Premium Agent partner in South America – employs 85 staff in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. It will operate under the name of Röhlig-Procargo and receive support from 30 staff Röhlig employs in Chile.

In addition the Weiss-Röhlig joint venture is taking over 100 per cent of the Procargo Miami operation. The Weiss-Röhlig U.S. and Procargo Miami offices will be merged with 25 staff, own warehouse and serve as the Latin America gateway.

“Investing into Procargo will create opportunities for our network to develop additional business to and from South America. We will join Röhlig’s strong international brand and network with the large sales force and local market knowledge of the Procargo Group covering 4 additional countries” says Michael Gerding, newly designated Managing Director of Röhlig-Procargo Argentina, currently Röhlig Group Agency Network Manager, Bremen.
