DB Schenker is once again the logistics partner of “Ironman Austria-Carinthia”

“Ever since the first Ironman we’ve been responsible for ensuring completely smooth logistics for triathlon participants and providing the best possible support to ensure the best athletic performance,” says Klaus Maximilian Hermetter, Head of the DB Schenker facility in Klagenfurt, and adds “We’re proud that we’ve been able to support IRONMAN athletes and organisers for more than 20 years now.”

This year’s sports event will be held in Carinthia on July 7th. Around 4,000 triathletes from more than 63 nations are ready to start alongside with DB Schenker. As in the past 20 years, the organisers of the sporting event will again rely on the know-how and expertise of the integrated transport and logistics provider also this year.

Preparations are in full swing to ensure the athletes can get through the competition well. More than 100 DB Schenker experts from all over Austria are working together to ensure that athletes will receive optimal care during the triathlon.

Their program is challenging: 3.8 kilometers swimming in Wörthersee, 42.2 kilometers running and 180 kilometers of cycling. For the first time, the cycling route will pass through the Carinthian central area, which will not only equalize the route, but also create more capacity.

DB Schenker offers a worldwide unique service for the “Ironman Austria-Carinthia”. All participants have the opportunity to put together their individual care packages and to hand them over in advance to the team of the logistics expert. Through the use of electronic tracking the exact position of the triathlete can be transmitted to the employees and the individual supply package can be handed over to the athletes without any loss of time.
