DB Schenker Logistics appoints new Head of Global Ocean Freight

Diederick de Vroet has been appointed to head global ocean freight activities at DB Schenker Logistics.

As Head of Global Ocean Freight at Schenker AG with headquarters in Essen, de Vroet will be responsible for a segment that saw over 1.6m containers (TEU) reach destinations throughout the world last year. The ocean freight expert has previously held management positions in the industry in Asia, and Europe.

"I am delighted that Diederick de Vroet will be joining us," said Thomas C. Lieb, Chairman of the Management Board of Schenker AG and responsible for Global Air/Ocean Freight. "I am confident that through his support we will further expand our leading position in the growing ocean freight market."

Jochen Thewes, who was previously in charge of ocean freight at DB Schenker Logistics, has transferred to Singapore, where he serves as Regional Director/Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the activities of the Asia Pacific region.
