DHL begins work on £53 million Tokyo gateway

DHL has broken ground on its 15,000sqm custom-built Tokyo gateway. The gateway is set to be the company’s fourth facility in Japan and will also be DHL’s largest gateway globally. The site will be fitted with a fully automated materials handling system that will cut processing time and increase efficiency.

The project is set to be completed in the first quarter of 2016, the new facility will increase processing capacity, improve service standards and can accommodate further growth. The projected is expected to cost £53 million.
