DHL Express Austria celebrates opening of its enlarged headquarters

Expanded location of DHL Express Austria in Guntramsdorf near Vienna permits a maximum throughput of 4,000 parcels per hour:

In the presence of 120 guests DHL Express inaugurated its new Austrian headquarters and the expanded terminal in Guntramsdorf near Vienna on 6 July. The previously separated production sites in Vienna and Guntramsdorf were now joined at the site in the district of Mödling. This allows for a fully integrated handling of all air and road-based express shipments, John Pearson, CEO DHL Express Europe, said in his speech.

The core of the expanded terminal is the fully automated sorting facility of the latest generation, with an integrated 6-sides scanner. It permits a dynamic weighing and measurement of the shipments and can handle 4,000 parcels per hour. Moreover the company’s building was enlarged by an additional loading and unloading area. The investment totals to EUR 5 million.

About 400 persons are working at the modified headquarters of DHL Express Austria in Guntramsdorf. The enterprise employs more than 1.000 persons across Austria, handling national and international express logistics activities.
