DHL Express Austria grows with national time-defined delivery options

DHL Express Austria: Simplified, standardised business process for all shipments and new conveyor technology at the location in Anthering
 
DHL Express Austria announces the completion of the service offensive for domestic customers launched in 2011. In the course of this offensive the Austrian headquarters in Guntramsdorf near Vienna was modernised and expanded with a budget of about EUR 5 million. Moreover the location in Anthering close to Salzburg was recently upgraded with a new conveyor technology at a value of EUR 300,000, responding to growing international volumes.
 
Following the joining of all production processes for air and road based express shipments, all business processes have been optimised as well. Worldwide express shipments by aircraft as well as road based shipments within Austria or Europe are now handled in a standardised process with regard to booking, processing, accounting and handling. To accelerate and simplify processes for express shippers there is only one client number, one booking tool and one invoice.
 
“2011 had been a year of departure. Joining the locations and hence the production processes were the basis for the express offensive. Furthermore this permitted the expansion of our national time-defined delivery options – before 9 am., before 10.30 am and before noon – which have been showing positive, double digit growth since the introduction. This allows Austrian enterprises to give their customers valuable time advantages“, says Ralf Schweighöfer, Managing Director DHL Express Austria.
