DHL-GF expands in Indonesia

DHL Global Forwarding will open two more offices in Indonesia, starting with a new office in Makassar this year and one in Denpasar next year.

The new locations will strengthen the company’s existing footprint of seven offices in Indonesia, as well its US$3 million airport facility, which opened at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in 2006.

The opening of the Makassar office will provide DHL Global Forwarding with a gateway to service energy and mining companies operating in Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Irian Jaya.

Indonesia’s oil & energy sector has traditionally been a very important industry to the country’s overall economic development, and the sector is set to become even more critical as it strives to fulfil the country’s domestic energy demands, which are growing at an average of 6% a year.
