DP World strengthens market appearance in the Far East

First vessel handled at new DP World container terminal in Vietnam

Last week the DP World Group has handled their first container vessel at the Saigon Premier Container Terminal. The 1,200 TEU vessel of the French shipping company CMA CGM is to maintain a weekly service between Vietnam and the ports of Tanjung Pelapas (Thailand) and Port Kelang (Malaysia).

The Saigon Premier Container Terminal in Ho Chi Minh City is operated by a joint venture. DP World holds 80 per cent of the share capital of the joint enterprise. The remaining 20 per cent are held by the Tan Thuan Industrial Promotion Company, a Vietnamese state-owned enterprise. The annual capacity of the container terminal is around 1.5 Million TEU.
