DPD FlexZustellung: Parcel recipient chooses day of delivery

New product of DPD parcel delivery company increases flexibility of delivery and reduces returns

The private parcel service company DPD has launched a new product. DPD FlexZustellung available as of now, allows recipients to choose the day of delivery of the parcel. If the scheduled delivery date does not suit the recipient can postpone the date within the next three working days. On the day of delivery, the recipient is also informed via SMS and/or e-mail about the time window (two hours) of the delivery.

FlexZustellung makes the reception of the parcel better predictable fothe recipient. Communication with the recipients enables DPD to significantly reduce the number of unsuccessful delivery attempts to private households, which also saves time, superfluous approaches and thus CO2 emissions during delivery trips. This also simplifies the work process of senders, as Rainer Schwarz, Managing Director DPD Austria, points out. “In a time, when it comes to speed and efficiency in business, accuracy in parcel delivery is a key factor for the satisfaction of recipients“, Schwarz sums up the advantages.

DPD Austria (Direct Parcel Distribution) based in Leopoldsdorf near Vienna is the leading parcel service in Austria. The enterprise provides services for national and international parcel distribution. About 1,500 employees across the nation are operating a fleet of 900 vehicles, and handled about 38.5 million parcels in 2012.
