DPD Parcel service extends service range in Romania

DPD starts national pickup service for documents in Romania

The international parcel and express service DPD is considerably expanding its service range in Romania. Step by step the national pickup service for documents and national COD will be introduced. "This means we can now offer products and services in Romania which have been established successfully in other markets and for which our Romanian partners are experiencing growing demand," explains Arnold Schroven, CEO of DPD.

In April DPD started introducing national pickup service for documents in the market. The shipment of COD parcels in Romania shall be tested with a number of pilot customers. After the test phase has been completed in May the national service will be made available to all of DPD’s customers in Romania from June. DPD attaches great importance to transferring the collected amounts to shippers as fast as possible, and to make the cash flow as transparent as possible.

In February the pickup service has already been extended to Romania. This means regular contract-customers now might have parcels collected not just from their own location but also from any other addresses in Romania and elsewhere in Europe. This means that Romanian shippers can arrange for a parcel to be picked up in London and then have it shipped to Frankfurt or Bucharest, with the entire ordering process taking place online. In addition DPD customers have online access to their shipment data and the progress of their parcels at all times.
