Duvenbeck is awarded major order from Claas

Agricultural machinery group Claas places order for inbound logistics of eight locations in Germany, France and Hungary with the Duvenbeck corporate group

The Duvenbeck group is attendig to a new major customer by means of a three-years agreement with the international agricultural machinery group Class with headquarters in Harsewinkel, in the eastern part of Westphalia. The group will provid comprehensive logistics services in eight locations in Europe. „It is mainly about the procurement logistics of the production plants of various Claas operations in Germany, France and Hungary,“ they say in a press release.

In Germany, Duvenbeck will use 80 trucks for provision and direct goods supply of the plants in Harsewinkel, Paderborn, Hamm, Gütersloh and Bad Saulgau. In addition, movement of goods towards and from Le Mans and Metz, both in France, and Törökszentmiklós, Hungary.

Every day Duvenbeck transports more than 1,000 tons of production material across the country. In addition to full and part loads they accept also groupage cargo for transport. For the plants in Germany and Metz Duvenbeck guarantees delivery within 24 hours after collection, and within 48 hours for Le Mans and Törökszentmiklós.

Supply with load carriers and pool empties, and the management of a trailer yards in Harsewinkel are also included in the service package. In addition the logistics concept comprises trailer swap at the plants in Harsewinkel and Hamm, where full units are exchanged for empties.

Consolidation is carried out at the Duvenbeck sites Rheda Wiedenbrück, Schwaig, Peine, Duisburg, and Bochum. At the newly founded Duvenbeck site in Rheda Wiedenbrück with 2,000 m² of covered warehouse area, 10,000 m² of open area and spacious office rooms, 200 tons of material are handled per day. From here, 20 employees of Duvenbeck take over the entire support of the CLAAS plants including service, handling, disposition and management of loading equipment and warehouses. The site is daily open from 6 am. to 10 pm., operated in two shifts.

The Duvenbeck group is a medium-sized logistics provider operating primarily in both the automotive and automotive supplier industries, and the plastics and beverages industries. Today the group has about 3,000 employees, who generate sales revenues totalling around EUR 350 million per year. The lion’s share of revenues comes from the transport business, totalling 1,000 towing and 1,540 and towed vehicles, as well as 900 swap trailers. In addition to Germany the company is operating in Austria, the Czech Republic, Spain, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
