DB Schenker Logistics expands capacity in Regensburg

New transhipment hall at DB Schenker Logistics site in Neutraubling near Regensburg offers additional space for further growth

Schenker Deutschland AG has almost doubled its production area for general cargo handling at the location in Neutraubling. Therefore the company has invested a total of EUR 3 million into the construction of a new state-of-the-art logistics facility. At the same time the resources for value-added logistics services have been extended to a total of 6,500 m². In addition, the location has two logistics warehouse of 9,000 m².

On a total area of 45,000 m² an additional 1,800 m² transshipment hall with 33 loading gates was built at Rosenhofer Straße. On 11 October, the new building was put into operation. It provides space for continuous expansion in the areas of land transport, air and ocean freight.

„Our office in Regensburg, Neutraubling, is an important pillar of our system traffic,“ said Hansjörg Rodi, CEO of Schenker Deutschland AG, on the occasion of the opening. „The expansion will provide our customers – predominantly medium-sized industry and trade companies in the region Upper Palatinate/Lower Bavaria, with faster and smoother access to the important sales and procurement markets in the world.“

As the largest logistics service provider in the economic region of Upper Palatinate/Lower Bavaria, the Schenker Deutschland AG branch in Regensburg with 160 employees – including more than 20 trainees – is serving 600 customers from diverse industries. Every day around 2,000 national and international shipments are passing the 72 loading bays.
