Duvenbeck’s truck fleet breaks the sound barrier

Successful expansion of the Duvenbeck corporate group – 1,000th truck is an Actros with Euro 6 motor

Since 27 June the truck fleet of the Bocholt-based Duvenbeck corporate group counts 1,000 vehicles for the first time. This four-digit figure was reached with a new Mercedes Actros, which was recently delivered at the Mercedes plant in Wörth. “I am glad also our 1,000th truck is a Mercedes. As a logistics service provider with an own big fleet we must be able to rely on our partners and the most efficient technology“, Thomas Duvenbeck said on this occasion.

The partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Duvenbeck has a long tradition. About 600 of their 1,000 trucks have their origin in the Daimler group. The recently delivered Actros – a three-axed tractor with a low frame – counts among the first trucks of the logistician to meet the strict emission standard Euro 6. “We will collect experience with Euro 6 and align our future fleet investments accordingly“, says Thomas Duvenbeck.

The Duvenbeck corporate group is a medium-sized logistics service provider focussing on the automobile and supply industry as well as the plastic and beverages industries. Thomas Duvenbeck (46) as a shareholder represents the third generation of the owner-managed family enterprise.

Through a consequent orientation towards the automobile industry the corporate group grew to 2,800 employees in its younger history, and generated turnover of about EUR 270 million in 2011. Operated with 1,000 tractors and 1,540 trailers as well as 900 swap bodies, transport business accounts for the lion’s share of the results. Duvenbeck runs 29 own locations in Austria, the Czech Republic, Spain, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
