DX opens first of eight new UK parcel depots in Essex

DX will dedicate its new Basildon depot to fulfilling its customers’ next-day delivery orders of parcels and documents. This rapid delivery service, known as DX Express, is a branch of the company that was responsible for over a quarter of DX’s yearly revenue in 2021.

It will supporting an existing site in Harlow, primarily serving areas around Southend and Chelmsford.

DX intends to expand both their Express and Freight divisions, and is currently in the second year of a group-wide investment programme that expects to invest £20-25 million in new vehicles, equipment, and technology.

Martin Illidge, Managing Director of DX Express said: “An important element in growing our Parcels operation has been our model of providing a high-quality, more localised and personal service, and we look forward to further expansion, which the Group is supporting with significant new investment.”
