e4e targets expansion after successful first 5 years
Specialist logistics consultancy Experts for Experts (e4e) is celebrating 5 highly-successful years, having placed over 350 senior industry executives, managed company sales, purchases and mergers among many major logistics players, and topped € 6 million in fee turnover in its latest year of trading. The Basel-based e4e organisation, which also provides interim management and strategic consulting services, already boasts 25 senior consultants who are longstanding former executives in the logistics industry. These specialists work within e4e’s 12-strong partner network based in Benelux, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Portugal, Scandinavia, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. e4e is now poised for further expansion, with plans to expand its network both in Europe and globally. Particular targets are South Africa, Canada, India and additional coverage of the USA. e4e was founded in 2002 by well-known industry veteran Fritz W. Schultze and 2 partners. A graduate in Business Administration at Cologne who served his apprenticeship with Thyssen, Schultze began his logistics career at Kuehne + Nagel in 1966. After just 2 years he was given the task of establishing the company in France, and then headed its Italian operations for five years. In 1978 he was appointed to the newly-established KN Management Board in Switzerland, with responsibility for Southern Europe and Africa. Schultze went on to become Senior Vice-President at French forwarder SCAC (now SDV) where he successfully transformed the group into a global market leader. Following this, he was appointed CEO for the Lep Group, where he took the company to 5th place among international forwarding groups. Says e4e Chairman Schultze, who has just celebrated his own 65th birthday but is not even considering retirement: “We have achieved a great deal with e4e in our 5 year history, but there is still much more to do. “Today, the globalisation of the logistics industry means that consultants need a presence throughout Europe and in other major markets, as well as specific knowledge of their own local market. “Being there” for our customers and our contacts is something we take quite literally, and the addition of further partners to our system will enable us to satisfy the wider needs of a greater field of clients.” Experts for Experts has approximately 21,000 data sets for executive searches across Europe alone, and counts global players and local SMEs among its customers. “We are active in placing candidates right across the spectrum, from € 50,000 pa right up to €300,000” adds Schultze. e4e’s merger & acquisitions business has also gone from strength to strength, with many sales, mergers and purchases already successfully concluded, many more in the pipeline, and an active client list that includes several top 10 global logistics names.
