ELK selects Gefco Österreich as partner for vehicle conversions

Gefco Österreich coordinates the conversion of 60 vehicles for the manufacturer of prefab houses ELK in the coming two years
 
The ELK group, Europe’s leading manufacturer of prefabricated houses based in Schrems, Lower Austria, charged Gefco Österreich to convert their vehicle fleet. This order of the first cooperation of the two enterprises. In the frame of a two-years-agreement Gefco Österreich assumes the conversion of 60 Peugeot Boxer L4H3, which will be carried out at Gefco’s automotive location in Schwertberg, Upper Austria. This includes installation of shelves, safety systems and heating systems.
 
The vehicle conversion for the ELK group is based on a cooperation of Gefco Österreich with the German vehicle supplier Sortimo. The Sortimo branch in Linz will provide, deliver and assume the configuration of the components while Gefco’s six-headed team assumes the installation.The conversion of a vehicle week takes one week. The transporters designed to ELK’s special requirements will be used as buses for construction. “The flexible adjustment of Gefco’s services to the individual requirements of our mounting business unit has great advantages for the smooth setting up“, says Erich Weichselbaum, CEO of the ELK group.“Converting the vehicles at the site in Schwertberg, we offer our customers options to differentiate with high added value“, says Thomas Ziegler, managing director Gefco Österreich. Per year about 600 vehicles are converted. A team of nine persons provides the services in the segments vehicle distribution and EU-transportations. Conversions of utility vehicles and maintenance of used cars complete the service range.
