ELVIS transport network establishes insurance broker company
Partnership with the Wirtschaft-Assekuranz group paves the way for ELVIS to enter the segments of mitigation and prevention of damage
The ELVIS AG enhances its service range: Together with the Wirtschafts-Assekuranz group (Amberg/Germany) Europe’s biggest transport network has established the ELVIS Versicherungsmakler GmbH and ELVIS Dienstleistungs GmbH. The objective is to permit considerable savings to the members, and support them in the segments of mitigation and prevention of damage. Moreover the new companies provide consulting for issues like certification, social legislation and technology.
The Wirtschafts-Assekuranz group is mainly operating in the segment of forwarding and freight haulage. The ELVIS Versicherungsmakler GmbH acts as an independent insurance broker on behalf of its members, negotiating with all insurance companies for commercial cargo transport in the market.
Jochen Eschborn, CEO ELVIS AG, emphasises the added value of the new companies in a press release: “Our members benefit in the form of substantial cost reductions and various services for mitigation and prevention of damage.” This was mainly due to big differences of the prices of the insurance companies, amounting up to EUR 10,per truck.
The ELVIS AG and the Wirtschafts-Assekuranz group are each holding 50 per cent of the new companies. “After diesel and salary, insurance companies are the third-biggest costs in the transport and logistics segment. Comparing tariffs and taking the right measures to prevent damage can help saving lots of money, says Karsten Füssel, CEO of the Wirtschaft-Assekuranz-Makler AG, about the saving potential.
The ELVIS Dienstleistungs GmbH puts the focus on the prevention of damage and the fast and cost-effective claims settlement, completed by support in more segments. In order to be able to process potential cases of damage in an efficient way, the company has a large pool of experts, which is a benefit for ELVIS members. For instance craftsmen check garage invoices, and lawyers accompany the forwarding companies previous and during negotiations at site.
