Ennshafen port is slightly confident

Moderate decline in water/land throughput at Ennshafen port in 2009

The Ennshafen Management is looking to the year 2010 with moderate confidence. Managing Director Christian Steindl wants to maintain the last year’s level of water/land throughput. For the Ennshafen container terminal he gives the prospect for a slight growth in volumes. At the CTE currently 45 block trains from the operators Hupac, ICA, IMS, Kuehne + Nagel, Roland Spedition and Transfracht are handled per week.

Thanks to the good development of the segments agricultural goods, fertilizers and timber, and despite the strong drops in the segment of industrial minerals in 2009 the water/land throughput at Ennshafen has declined 1.5 per cent on the previous year to 532,000 tons. The Ennshafen container terminal handled 159,000 TEU, about 17 per cent less than in 2008.
